May 16, 2008 - Atlanta, GA – Malice Cloaked in Liberty (ISBN 978-1-60477-382-8, Townhall Press, 2008) by George Autry Jr., rips off the secretive world of today’s liberal thought and organizations to expose the dangers that they are presenting to America. Among the topics that the newly released and critically acclaimed book deals head on with such issues as the culture war, race, radical Islam, the attack on religion, illegal immigration, and judicial tyranny. Autry, the Chairman of America’s Majority wrote this book because of the concerns and fears that he has about the aggressive and dangerous agenda of today’s radical left who are using America’s own freedoms and laws to impose their viewpoint on an unwilling country. He hopes that Malice Cloaked in Liberty will serve as a wake-up call to Americans who are blind to this radical assault on their basic liberties and rights.
“Today’s radical left and their supporters are using the fundamental rights that our founding fathers bequeathed to us in their bid to undermine our nation and give aid and support to those who would harm America,” said author, George Autry Jr., “The cloak that I refer to in my title is the way that these groups hide their true intent and purpose from millions of Americans in the name of political correctness. The malice is the political correctness that they seek to impose upon all but is never considered except for a few as being malicious.”
Malice Cloaked in Liberty calls in to account those in the fields of media, education, government, and even religion who have chosen to shirk their responsibility to the American people by turning a blind eye to the dangers corrupting American values. In a play on Hillary Clinton’s famous statement, Autry contends that there is a vast left-wing conspiracy that is far more dangerous than any enemy America has ever confronted. Autry writes that radical Islamic-fascism is using and is being backed by liberals to attack America from within. He contends that many Islamic schools in the United States are being used as training camps for a fifth-column within our country. What is more, Autry argues that responsible leaders are aware of this and they do nothing to stop it.
“Islamic fascism is a greater danger to the United States than any enemy that we have ever faced,” said Autry. “They are determined to undermine and destroy our nation and impose their will upon this country. They will use whatever tools they can to accomplish their mission and view this war in a long term strategy. Indeed, most Americans fail to realize that we have been fighting radical Islam since the days of Thomas Jefferson and the Barbary Pirates and that our enemy sees their assault on us as part of this war that first begun in 1803.”
Autry also trains his fire on the ACLU and liberal activist judges who seek to use the courts to undermine the legislative and executive branches of government. Continuing the conservative argument he shows how judges are seeking to legislate from the bench and impose the liberal agenda that has been rejected at the polls. Autry shows how liberal Presidents such as Carter and Clinton seek out judicial appointments in hopes of circumventing the legislative process to impose their agenda on the American people.
Illegal immigration and the failure to address this issue is a major concern of Autry. He points out that legal immigration is the glory of America but today, liberals try to paint anyone who opposes illegal immigration as being a bigot and against immigration.
“Legal immigration has been a cornerstone of America from the first settlers who sought a better life in the New World,” said Autry. “Our freedoms and the opportunities continue to attract people seeking to escape oppression and hardship. Sadly, though many seek to enter the country illegally causing a stain upon all immigrants and this is wrong. Yet today’s liberals seek to portray anyone who opposes illegal immigration as being anti-immigrant. This is not so but a typical tactic of political correctness, I welcome anyone who enters America legally.”
Autry also demonstrates how race is a favorite tactic of today’s radical left to attack mainstream America. He points out the double standards that are seen in debates between white and African-American leaders and how white leaders are often afraid to point out hypocrisy for fear of being labeled a racist. Charging racism is the new ploy of the left alleges Autry.
“In today’s debates the left seeks to shut up honest dissent by invoking the race card,” said Autry. “Whether it is in political debate, investigating an African-American official, or calling for budget cuts in social programs the left will say that it is because of race and put Americans on the defensive. That is repugnant and the left must be challenged on this or our freedom of expression will corrode.”
