December 28, 2006 - “Magic&Beyond” featuring The Magic of Illusionist David Garrity will be appearing at Beverly's Main Streets' New Year's Eve Celebration in Beverly, Massachusetts on Dec. 31, 2006. Show times are scheduled for 3:30 P.M. and 4:30 P.M. at First Parish Unitarian Church, 225 Cabot Street in Beverly, Massachusetts. Highlights from David's show include a flashy opening called “Shades of Magic” in which the unique magic revolves around a set of sunglasses that have appeared in a flash of fire, a breathtaking escape where David races against time and re-creates Houdini’s dangerous Straightjacket Challenge and a beautiful and artistic illusion involving ordinary Hula Hoops that perform extraordinary magic. David Garrity uses these illusionary elements combined with music, pantomime, situation comedy and audience participation to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds.
Recently, David’s show “Magic&Beyond” has been seen at the United Nations School in NYC, First Night Worcester in Worcester, MA and at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, CT.
David performs over 500 shows annually along the East Coast and internationally. David's show has been seen at amusement parks, colleges, festivals, mall promotions, corporate events, schools, libraries and countless other functions.
David Garrity writes and creates all of his own shows, as well as shows for other corporations and amusement park companies. David's credits include; creating, writing and directing over 15 magic/variety shows at Six Flags New England (formerly Riverside Park) in Agawam, MA, since 1992. David has also served as artistic/production director and consultant for the "The Ronald McDonald Big E Show" since 1994.
In 1997, David Garrity created a special event for the management at the Sonesta Beach Resort in Bermuda. David was responsible for providing the magical entertainment as well as serving as emcee for the event. Also, in 1997 David was contracted by Silja Line Cruises in Finland to create a special event that included ambient strolling entertainment and a magic/juggling variety show that ran on the ship twice a day.
In 1991, David formed his own production company, Entertainment Magic. Since then, Entertainment Magic has been responsible for creating entertainment and productions for some of the largest companies in the United States and internationally.
