January 29, 2008 - In order to ensure that the M33 Claims Audit Team best represent their clients, a National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) specialist held a training session at the Greenville, SC office of M33 Integrated Solutions. Don Newell, Senior Weighing & Research Specialist for the National Motor Traffic Association (NMFTA), directed the two-part session.
The first session was an introductory course on how to use NMFC, how to identify items shipped without the proper shipping nomenclature, and the basics of NMFC protocols. Mr. Newell also taught them how to properly dispute weight & research issues between common carriers and M33 client companies.
The second session focused more on the rules and advanced use of NMFC. Mr. Newell provided the M33 Claims Audit Team with information about how NMFTA classifies weight, and how to contact NMFTA to request clarification on improper descriptions in bills of lading and carrier invoices.
M33 Personnel that completed both NMFC training sessions were Chrissy Ballenger, Charlotte Buda, Jamie Butler, Naomi Mance, Melanie Pollard, Brenda Reynolds and Susan Saunders. Additional M33 personnel participated in the second session only.
