Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease)
September 29, 2009 - The Medical Transcription Education Center (M-TEC), a highly-respected and ACCP-approved Medical Transcription (MT) training program, announced that Kim Buchanan, CMT, AHDI-F, has been appointed to serve as the organization’s Director of Instructor Education and Industry Relations. Her impressive career history includes serving as the Director of Education, Credentialing and Workforce Development at AHDI, the transcription industry’s member association. The announcement was made by Jack McCullough, the President of M-TEC.
Buchanan was recruited to join M-TEC due to her innovative approach to revising curriculum and launching new programs for transcription workforce development while she was at AHDI. She has the additional distinction of having served as the board President of AHDI in 2005-2006. At M-TEC she will work closely with Paula Stoltz, CMT, AHDI-F, who was recently promoted internally to serve as the company’s Director of Medical Transcription Education. Buchanan will also join forces with M-TEC’s Business Development Manager, Vallie Piloian, CMT, AHDI-F, who succeeded her as the board President of AHDI.
“M-TEC takes pride in being ahead of the curve in training the next generation of transcriptionists through top-notch education and innovation that anticipates the needs of the industry,” says McCullough. “Kim is a perfect fit with our vision for the future and she has proven her mettle by achieving numerous career milestones as well as gaining recognition as a trusted, results-producing leader.”
About M-TEC
The Medical Transcription Education Center (M-TEC) was developed and founded in 1996 by experienced MTs (Kathleen Kropko, CMT, AHDI-Fellow and Susan Francis, CMT, AHDI-Fellow) who made it their mission to provide the highest quality education for medical transcription training. M-TEC's academic purpose is to prepare students for productive careers in the dynamic, ever-changing, and challenging medical transcription profession at an entry level. In addition to being the first school to be approved by the Approval Committee for Certificate Program (ACCP), a joint committee established by AHDI and AHIMA for certifying and approving medical transcription education programs, M-TEC also partners with a variety of colleges within the United States.
