LPU conducted Workshop for Tibetan Schools' Principals & Teachers

  • (1888PressRelease) September 24, 2015 - After successful implementations of globally applauded and time-needed soft skills, e-learning & smart teaching processes at its campus, Lovely Professional University is now keen to provide consultancy about the same to other educational institutions across India and the globe. On these lines, LPU empowered Tibetan schools' educators with smart teaching skills through four day workshop on 'Leadership for Academic Excellence' by sharing social responsibility under its project 'Disha'. Near 100 education officers, rectors, principals, headmasters/mistresses, teachers participated from 40 Tibetan Schools spread across Nepal & India. Education Minister of Tibet Mr Ngodup Tsering & Education Secretary Mr Nawang Rabgyal Norpa were also present during this extensive teaching-learning endeavour. Participant schools are situated in top areas including Kathmandu, Ladakh, Clementown, Mussoorie, Darjeeling, Dalhousie, Kalimpong, & Bangalore.

    Through eleven sessions spanned on four days of the workshop, senior academicians of LPU from different faculty and departments delivered exuberant mentorship to the visitors in different skill-areas. Executive Deans from the faculty of Business and Sciences & Technology elaborated on "Critical Issues for Academics- Excellence" & "Learning: The Changing Paradigm & Perspective Thereof". Head, Division of InfoTech, imparted demo on 'School Management Software'. Similarly, other important topics chosen were "Creating a Thinking Classroom"; "Classroom Management and Behaviour Strategies"; "Instructional Supervision"; "Assessment Tools"; "Effective Leadership" and more. The visiting educationalists imbibed each and every school to further implement in their respective schools.

    According thanks to LPU Management, Education Officer, Central Tibetan Administration Dharmshala, Mr Tsering Dhondup shared: "It is really amazing to be at the candidly developed LPU campus, and that too for a great learning. I and other representatives of different Tibetan schools are now much pragmatic about the time-needed educational skills. We all liked technology equipped latest teaching at LPU and have great appreciation for much reliable classroom management software. We are sure to implement these imbibing at LPU in our respective schools to be in equivalence with other modern schools world over, even to excel too. We are very thankful to LPU Chancellor for providing such an important training to us. This is, indeed, going to greatly affect 25000+ students, 1500 teachers of 75 Tibetan Schools."

    LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal expressed his happiness on the large participation of the high ranked educationalists from Tibetan Education System. Mr Mittal said: "We are happy to see whole hearted support and enthusiastic participation of Tibetan academicians to our coveted project- Disha. Now, through updated educative imbibing and imparting thereof, they are sure to further strengthen educational scenario. We have strived towards sharing challenges and innovations in school & higher Education by allocating our resources to fill the existing gaps in the ways of teachings. We aim to add more to the knowledge pool of the educators so that they may prepare their respective school students as ready to receive latest higher education in an easy absorbing way." Continuing, he said: "We invite remaining Tibetan schools also to send their representatives for sharing such skills free of cost."

    Being biggest resource container, LPU has conceived & designed career counseling and guidance project- 'Disha'. Under this, students, teachers, even parents are guided through mutual discussions/interactions for further betterment in educational environment as per the demand of the time. So, this time, a four-day workshop to empower Tibetan school teachers was organized on LPU initiative. The workshop adds more to the knowledge pool on soft skills, e-learning and smart teaching. During this, technical sessions by the university experts, interactions with senior functionaries of LPU, panel discussions, feedbacks from the participants and an open forum for discussion and activities open new vistas
