June 05, 2007 - Grammy and Dove award winning producer and songwriter Phil Naish (Steven Curtis Chapman, Jaci Valesquez, Point of Grace) can now add label owner to his already illustrious resume. Naish is pleased to announce his newest venture, Undone Recordings, a boutique label focused on developing artists who are not only great at their craft but also have a passion for Jesus and a desire to make Him known around the world.
Beginning his career as a studio keyboard player for artists such as Sandy Patti, Steve Green, Boz Scaggs, Dolly Parton and Beth Nielson Chapman, Naish has gone on to produce some of the most popular Christian Records to date for artists such as Point of Grace, Carman, Jaci Velasquez, Geoff Moore & the Distance and Michael Card to name a few, with many of these albums receiving Gold and Platinum sales status. Most notably, Naish produced seven albums for industry luminary, Steven Curtis Chapman, garnering three GRAMMY awards and numerous GMA DOVE Awards.
In addition to developing Undone Recordings, Naish continues his production work, most recently recording with Nicol Smith Sponberg (formerly of Selah) for Curb Records on a new worship project.
“I see Undone as a place for new artists to feel comfortable and courageous enough to risk artistry at the cutting edge that is of the highest level ,” explains Naish. “I want Undone to create art in every part of our company while honoring the Giver of all our gifts and pointing others towards Him.”
Naish has partnered with producer and worship artist Drew Cline to oversee label development.
“I’m excited to sign and develop a small group of great artists that we can fully support in their mission to impact the world for Christ,” says Cline. “This is just the beginning and we’re all excited about continuing to cultivate an environment in our industry for artists and music that make a difference.
Cline continues, “We’ve assembled a veteran team of consultants to help us aggressively support our artists through traditional and non-traditional marketing channels.”
Kyros Entertainment, a lifestyle marketing company, provides label marketing strategy, while Brighter Promotions (Lori Cline) oversees a team of radio promoters. Rounding out the team are seasoned business strategists, Dr. Billy Powell, former chairman of the board for KSBJ, and Burt Williams.
