July 23, 2008 - (Cedar Lake, IN) Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary will be hosting their first annual garage sale fundraiser in early August. The fundraiser will be held in Cedar Lake, Indiana and is being held to raise funds to support and maintain the quality of Fur Angel Animal Sanctuary’s Animal Care and Rescue Programs.
As a locally-based not-for-profit 501c3 organization, Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary relies greatly on the contributions and kindness of the Chicagoland community to assist them with caring for the areas homeless and often abused animals that they rescue or that are brought to the sanctuary.
The Annual Garage Sale Fundraiser is new this year for the sanctuary. Donations of clean unwanted items are greatly appreciated as well as monetary donations. All proceeds from Fur Angel’s Animal Sanctuary’s First Annual Garage Sale Fundraiser will go into maintaining the quality, much-needed programs that serve the homeless and often abused animals that founder Amber Kay and helpers rescue from the streets and kill shelters.
Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary rescues animals including dogs, cats, birds and exotics. They are known for rescuing hard to place animals such as hearing impaired animals and have built a solid reputation as one of the leading rescue centers for deaf animals.
Through the generosity of supporters, sponsors, attendees and event volunteers, Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary will be able to continue helping homeless animals. The current recession has definitely caused an increase in the amount of animals being brought to the sanctuary or rescued from the streets or kill shelters. The recession has also caused the shelter to open their doors to unwanted birds and other small animals whose owners can no longer afford to keep them.
Established in 2005, Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary is a not-for-profit 501(c) (3) corporation. Their mission is to rescue, protect and place unwanted and often abused animals in loving homes. Through advocacy, animal housing, supportive services, education and outreach they implore the community to practice compassion and aid their cause.
