Local Nonprofit Attends Community Support Group

Las Vegas Teen Crisis members attended a local Support Group meeting held Saturday, February 10th at the home of a Las Vegas resident intimately aware of the loss and cost of personal tragedy surrounded around families affected by drug abuse and bad choices.

Las Vegas, NV-AZ (1888PressRelease) February 21, 2007 - About 3 years ago she was dealing with her teenage daughter’s uncontrollable behavior. Her daughter had dropped out of school, been arrested and often left the home for 3-5 days. Her behavior worsened when she began using Crystal Meth. This Las Vegas resident searched for answers within the community. She enrolled her daughter in counseling, sought treatment at a local re-habilitation center and did everything she was suggested to do by the juvenile system. Nothing worked.

She continued to look for reasonable, affordable areas of help within the Las Vegas area and found that a working solution was not available. This mother was forced to seek very expensive help and support through programs outside of our state that offered a significant shift in the family dynamic and their behaviors. “These programs are highly effective and successful, unfortunately, they are also very expensive and required my daughter to be placed out of state.” says this local resident.

There were over 45 Las Vegas families represented at the meeting, all of which have had similar experiences of breakdown within their “family circle”. These community residents have fallen prey to the dangerous influences attacking our local young people. Influences such as families suffering from the affects/effects of all forms of substance abuse, addictions, dysfunction, ADD/ADHD, depression, behavioral problems, and school problems/poor peer choices, bullying, self-esteem/emotional issues, and abuse in all its forms. Las Vegas Teen Crisis was formed by a parent who lived her own similar personal tragedy and after seeking support within the community was forced to turn outside of Las Vegas for help.

Las Vegas Teen Crisis is a local nonprofit community organization dedicated to Prevention and Awareness for families experiencing breakdown through proven emotional growth programs they sponsor. Experiencing the effective personal growth component of this solution, supporters of Las Vegas Teen Crisis have rallied together to bring these learning possibilities to our city to create a community wide shift that results in saving lives and families.
