April 18, 2006 - Atlanta, GA – April 18, 2006 – Jazz Soul Music Group, the premiere entertainment company for adults 25 and over, is hosting Friday Night Jazz at Hyatt Regency Suites - Windy Hill. This fabulous Happy Hour event features a live jazz artist every Friday night, to help end your week on a high note.
Just five weeks in the making, Friday Night Jazz at the Hyatt has already featured some of the hottest acts on the Contemporary Jazz scene including Jeff Sparks. Acts scheduled to perform in upcoming weeks include Music Fingers, and Modoca and Company. Each week new artists are featured as the crowd chows down on delicious Hyatt cuisine, mingle, and network.
"Our vision was to create a venue for people to enjoy great music live, across diverse audiences," says Darren Glenn, founder of Jazz Soul Music Group. Since its formation in 2005, the group has kept true to its cause.
A native of Augusta, Georgia, Glenn has been producing and promoting music events in the Atlanta for 15 years. He comes from a musical family (his uncle is the Godfather of Soul, James Brown); and he studied music from childhood including playing in school bands. Glenn is a self-described “lifelong music student.” His love for jazz in particular stems from his desire to expose people to music that has meaning and that exhibits “truly original expression.”
"We want to keep bringing people out to have a good time, enjoy each other, listen to good music that doesn't have to be censored," says Glenn. “Don’t get me wrong - there is nothing wrong with the hip-hop scene, but it’s not always the appropriate genre for a more mature crowd,” he adds.
