Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease)
March 14, 2007 - The competition is open to professional architects and designers, students of architecture or design, owner/builders, and builders. The contest winner will be required to be creative and recreate a Moroccan inspired space with an emphasis on lighting and chandeliers. The project may be a residential home décor project showcasing a bedroom, lounge, patio, living room or a commercial space such as a restaurant, bar hotel or a hookah lounge.
The winning Moroccan space will contain basic elements of design, creativity, and overall esthetics. The project must contain at least one Moroccan home décor item and will emphasize lighting through chandeliers, table and Floor lamps, wall sconces, or outdoor light fixtures.
Entries may use Moroccan inspired light fixtures as long as they are not manufactured as the contest is designed to put a spotlight on the hand made and artistic nature of traditional Moroccan lighting such as the popular henna wall sconces and table and floor lamps.
