March 04, 2008 - Life In Charlotte's Golden Ring Awards ceremony was held February 25 at Extravaganza Depot. The popular event drew a diverse group of business, community and charity leaders.
The Golden Ring Award is presented to individuals "who have demonstrated the ability to get things done with extraordinary conviction and dedication for the benefit of the community," according to awards spokesman and Life in Charlotte's founder, Carl White. "Recipients are acknowledged as having performed within time frames that are extremely challenging to meet, and against overwhelming odds."
This year’s award winners were Dr. John Chen, Dragon Boat Festival; Terri DeBoo, Board Leadership Development; Keva Walton, Business Diversity Champion, Charlotte Chamber; and Cecilia Ramirez, Latin American Chamber of Commerce.
The Kal Kardous “Accent on Quality” Customer Service Award was presented to Marty Conte, President of Diamond Springs.
The Mission of Life In Charlotte is to provide a broad and inclusive picture of the positive aspects of the cultural and ethnic diversity of our region.
We do this by highlighting the people and organizations who are active in our community and who demonstrate positive and affirming values for community growth and harmony.
