November 29, 2008 - Life In Charlotte is to hold its 5th annual Life In Charlotte Volunteerism and Community Service Awards event on December 10th at Extravaganza Depot at 5:30pm. The 2008 awards will be presented to deserving Charlotte Region Citizen Leaders who have demonstrated exceptional volunteerism and or Community Service efforts. This year’s recipients are: Sue Gorman, Dan Ramirez, Andrea Lee and Mohammad Jenatian.
The Life In Charlotte Cultural Ambassadorship Award will also be awarded. This award is presented to a worthy recipient who has served at least 10 years in promoting there own nation of origin as well as promoting and serving multiple cultures, through which cultural, racial, community education and harmony are promoted. This year’s worthy recipient will be Klaus Becker, President of NC German American Chamber of Commerce.
The event will start at 5:30 pm with the Celebration of Relationship Building signature business multi-cultural networking reception; the awards program will follow at 7:00pm with a special holiday dance from 8-9:30pm. The evening’s entertainment will be lead by the award winning Kevin Clark and Band. Cultural dance exhibits and special guest holiday music will also be featured. Charlotte business owners, government leaders and leading economic cultural organizations from the Charlotte region participate in this annual festive event.
Life In Charlotte will continue in its annual participation in a Coat and Blanket Drive for Crisis Assistance Ministry. All attendees are requested to bring coats and blankets for this cause.
