Legal Aid Foundation Of Los Angeles Elects New Board President

The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) has elected Harriet S. Posner, Esq., president of its 2008-2009 Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2008. LAFLA is the largest and oldest frontline law firm in Los Angeles County that serves poor and low-income individuals.


Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2008 - The Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) has elected Harriet S. Posner, Esq., president of its 2008-2009 Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2008. Posner, a partner in the law firm, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2002. She succeeds Glenn D. Pomerantz, Esq., of Munger, Tolles & Olson, LLP. LAFLA is the largest and oldest frontline law firm in Los Angeles County that serves poor and low-income individuals.

“LAFLA is pleased to have such a distinguished and seasoned attorney leading our Board and staff as we chart our course for the year,” said Mario Salgaldo, LAFLA’s Executive Director. “The current economic times have placed a greater demand on our attorneys and services, as many poor and low-income individuals struggle to survive and often times bear the burden of our financial depression.”

Posner will provide leadership to LAFLA’s 60-member Board of Directors, which includes attorneys from the largest and most highly recognized law firms in Los Angeles, as well as representatives from our client community.
