December 22, 2008 - The Ronning Guide to Modern Stage Hypnosis has been awarded the book of the year by the International Hypnosis Association.
"I knew it was a terrific book, but I was not prepared for the great reviews, terrific sales and wonderful honor from the International Hypnosis Association. We have students around the world who have started part-time and full-time stage hypnosis careers with our materials, and this award is so meaningful and rewarding," said author Geoffrey Ronning.
Each year the IHA chooses one book to honor. This is the first time it has chosen a stage hypnosis book.
According to Jensine Ban, a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and the founder of IHA, "In these trying economic times it is important to empower people to start their own business, and it is equally important to teach ethical applications of hypnosis. This book succeed on both levels."
