Lean Enterprise Institute Offers New Training on Lean for Healthcare

New workshop from the Cambridge, MA-based nonprofit Lean Enterprise Institute introduces healthcare professionals to how the methods, tools, and underlying philosophy of lean thinking create measureable improvements in healthcare.


Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) November 05, 2009 - The Lean Enterprise Institute (LEI) will present Key Concepts of Lean in Healthcare, its new workshop on how lean principles improve quality, costs, patient safety, waiting times, and staff satisfaction, Dec. 2-3, 2009.

The two-day workshop will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the LEI office, One Cambridge Center, Cambridge, MA.

Taught by LEI Senior Fellow Mark Graban, a lean healthcare practitioner and author of Lean Hospitals, the workshop is designed for physicians, managers, senior leaders, and frontline clinical or professional staff members who want to understand the total scope of implementing lean in a healthcare setting. Cross-functional teams are encouraged to attend together.

The workshop combines lecture, discussions, exercises, and examples from a variety of healthcare settings and patient pathways.
