June 12, 2009 - Los Angeles CA – Laser Toner Zone, a manufacturer of printer consumables, has just released its first batch of compatible HP Q2612A (12A) and Q2612X (12X) toner cartridges. Designed for the HP Laserjet 1010 series and Laserjet 3010 series, these printer cartridges are manufactured from their ISO 9001 certified facility.
As compared to remanufactured cartridges which are sourced primarily from reused and reconditioned parts (also known as refurbished units), these compatible toners are made entirely from new components. From the plastic shells to each cartridge’s drum, each unit is made in accordance to OEM standards to guarantee compatibility.
Both the Q2612A and Q2612X fit the same Laserjet printer series but differ greatly in page output. While the HP 12A laser toner has a yield of 2,200 pages at 5% coverage, the HP 12X has a yield of 3,500 pages at 5% coverage for heavy duty printing and extended use.
“The main challenge to building a compatible cartridge is precision,” stated Robert Leonard, during their recent product launch. “Aside from the plastic shell which should slide smoothly in the printers, you need a clean corona wire assembly, individually inspected rollers, and smooth heavy duty drums that are manufactured to razor thin precision. Anything short of perfection may result to common problems such as leaks, streaks, and malfunction which in certain cases lead to printer damage.”
“While compatible laser toners differ greatly from remanufactured cartridges as far as the production process is concerned, we would like to dispel the false notion that remanufactured toners are inferior. Though it is true that refurbished units are sourced from used parts, much of their components are either reconditioned or replaced such that in some cases, only the plastic shell is all that remains.”
