June 22, 2006 - Canada March 05, 2006 - Largest-ever International IC-China Conference & Exhibition Opens in Shanghai - 12 of Top 15 Semiconductor Suppliers Participating Including Intel, Samsung and TI
Global Sources (NASDAQ:GSOL)has opened the 11th International Integrated Circuit-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China) at Shanghai Mart in Shanghai. This year's IIC-China is the largest ever with a total of 209 exhibitors in three cities - - up 21 percent from last year.
It is co-located with Embedded Systems Conference-China (ESC-China) and will run in Shanghai through tomorrow; in Shenzhen on March 10-11; and in Beijing on March 13-14.
Twelve of the world's 15 largest semiconductor suppliers are participating in the event -- Intel, Samsung, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, STMicroelectronics, Infineon, Renesas, Philips, Freescale, Spansion, NEC and Micron. Other key exhibitors include Analog Devices, Atmel, Avnet, Fairchild, International Rectifier, Intersil and SigmaTel.
Mark Saunderson, president of the Global Sources-CMP Media joint venture that organizes IIC-China, said: ''With more than 800 booths -- a hundred more than in 2005 -- this year's show presents even more design ideas and solutions. Plus, 82 companies are participating in the exhibition for the very first time.
