April 10, 2009 - “This will be a great opportunity for us to share our new vision for La Palmera with business leaders in our community,” said La Palmera General Manager Fred Walters. “We’re happy to partner with the Corpus Christi Hispanic Chamber to present this timely seminar and share some business insight with the group. There may even be those in attendance who will someday open a store here at La Palmera.”
The workshop portion will be hosted by franchise expert John Moak, owner of Fortuna Franchise Opportunities, specializing in pairing entrepreneurs with appropriate business concepts. He will provide guidelines and discuss evaluation tools to help attendees assess their individual needs and suitability to own or start a business and to determine which business concept is the right one. Handouts and helpful checklists will be provided. The evening will end with a behind-the-scenes tour of the mall’s new retail space and food court.

Moak, a former Chamber of Commerce director himself, is a guest lecturer at the University of Southern Mississippi and regularly speaks with Chamber and small business groups.
