Knowledge Train Leads the Way with PRINCE2®: 2009 Courses

New training programme for most up-to-date project management best practices.

(1888PressRelease) July 24, 2009 - Knowledge Train Ltd is one of the first accredited training organisations to deliver PRINCE2® project management courses using the updated manual and syllabus, with its brand new PRINCE2®: 2009 training programme now underway in Central London. Revised Foundation and Practitioner courses are complemented by the 2005-9 Bridging course, which outlines the key differences between the current and previous versions of PRINCE2® for the benefit of individuals who wish to refresh their existing knowledge of the methodology before continuing training or renewing their Practitioner certification.

Introduced in 1996, PRINCE2® is firmly established in both the private and public sector in the UK, as well as ranking among the world’s most popular project management methodologies. The PRINCE2®: 2009 Refresh recognises the advances made in project management best practices since the previous PRINCE2® update was released in 2005, while remaining true to the essence of the original methodology.

With emphasis on clarifying and streamlining the methodology, PRINCE2®: 2009 incorporates the following main changes to the previous syllabus, making it the most versatile version of PRINCE2® yet produced:

• Seven principles, outlining the characteristics of the model PRINCE2® project, have been introduced;
• Seven themes – aspects of the project being managed – have replaced the original eight components;
• There are now seven, rather than eight, processes;
• The new Project Environment section helps project managers to adapt the PRINCE2 method more effectively, in order to meet the requirements of particular situations.

In addition, the updated Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2® manual is accompanied by the new Directing Successful Projects with PRINCE2® guide, aimed at senior members of the Project Board and sponsors.

Simon Buehring, Managing Director of Knowledge Train, says: “We’re committed to offering our clients the most up-to-date project management best practices, which is why we’re delivering PRINCE2®: 2009 courses ahead of many other training providers. With a much improved PRINCE2® methodology, we hope to build upon our fantastic exam success rates - on average, 99% of Foundation and 96% of Practitioner candidates pass their exams after training with us.”

All of Knowledge Train’s PRINCE2® courses have been approved by The APM Group Ltd, ensuring that they conform to the highest standards of project management training.
