Drifting, a competitive motorsport gaining massive popularity in Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and the United Kingdom, among other nations, has proven the top draw at the ‘GT Battle – The Evolution’ competition, a week’s worth of races held at the Knockhill Racing Circuit near Edinburgh.
The third championship round of the ‘GT Battle – The Evolution’ kicks off July 1 at Knockhill Racing Circuit, which provides a new and challenging track for drifting drivers.
The ‘GT Battle - The Evolution’ is unique to the entire GT Battle racing schedule: it is the only summer dusk stage for 2006, scheduled with a late-afternoon start and predicted to end around 10PM.

While drifting can be an acquired taste, the adrenalin rush that accompanies watching the sport cannot be denied. Drivers compete to keep their rear-wheel drive cars sliding for extended periods of time, often through several turns amidst the smell of burning rubber.
The top five drivers from ‘GT Battle – The Evolution’ will participate in the GT Battle showdown in Irwindale, CA, USA, in December: the USA vs JAPAN vs EUROPE D1 event.
