(1888PressRelease) June 20, 2008 - Kermel, a French manufacturer of protective clothing, will supply its Kermel® V50 and VMC40 camouflage fabrics to the French Army within the framework of the FELIN programme (Fantassins avec Equipements de Liaisons Intégrés – Infantrymen with Integrated Liaison Equipment) run by the French Directorate-General for Armament (the official defence procurement agency).

Both fabrics combine comfort, excellent durability and exceptional fire resistance and offer considerable improvements in standards for camouflage battledress. Kermel® V50 is used for summer wear and Kermel® VMC40 for winter wear. Both fabrics have already been successfully tested by the French Army and the first battalions will be equipped with Kermel camouflage battledress from late 2008.

Kermel® V50 is an ideal and lasting solution for summer battledress. The softness of the fibres, combined with the absorption capacity of FR viscose, provide greater levels of comfort for the wearer. These properties, together with its excellent thermal protection, ensure that this uniform is perfectly adapted to summer and mid-season conditions.

Kermel® VMC40 uses the latest innovations in camouflage fabric techniques. The material is ideal for use in damp conditions and in cold weather. It is also extremely soft to the touch and is highly durable. This new blend provides the ideal balance of softness, humidity transfer and fire resistance.

Kermel® fabrics are tested in real-life conditions. They are inherently non-flammable and therefore remain non-flammable for the full lifecycle of the garment. Garments produced using Kermel® benefit from excellent performance in terms of colour fastness. After repeated washes, the fatigues retain not only their camouflage protection, but also their thermal protection, even in the most extreme conditions. Moreover, all versions of Kermel® fabrics can be adapted to all types of camouflage.
