Kent Station Kicks Off The Holiday Season With Santa’s Arrival And Donations To Kent Food Bank

Kent Station will kick off the holiday season with the much-anticipated arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, accompanied by the Rainier Brass Ensemble, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 29.

Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2008 - Kent Station will kick off the holiday season with the much-anticipated arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday, November 29. The jolly couple will be welcomed by children, families and shoppers along with the Rainier Brass Ensemble at Kent Station Plaza at 10 a.m. The community is invited to join in the festivities.

Afterward, Santa will be available at Kent Station’s Santa House for holiday photos and to listen to the hopes and dreams of children. Santa also offers his patented “naughty or nice” test to determine which boys and girls have been good this year. All ages are welcome.

Priced between $10 and $40, photo packages are available for purchase with proceeds going to the Kent Food Bank. In addition, visitors who donate a nonperishable food item or a new, unwrapped toy will receive a discount on their photo packages.

“Shoppers really enjoyed our custom-made Santa House last year, so we are excited to bring it back,” Kent Station general manager John Hinds said. “We’re also glad that we can contribute to the Kent Food Bank again this year. It’s such a good cause and an integral part of our community, particularly during the winter months.”

During the 2008 holiday season, Kent Station donated 500 pounds of food, 200 toys and $1,200 to Kent Food Bank families. Santa encourages your visits, and Kent Station welcomes your toy and food donations.

“The Kent Food Bank is very fortunate to be supported by a giving community,” Jeniece Choate director of the Kent Food Bank said. “The Santa House at Kent Station is an important partnership that provides the food bank with food and toys to distribute to hundreds of families during the holiday season.”
