Kent Station And Evergreenbank Kick-Off March Dining Fundraiser To Earn Dollars For Kent Scholars

Along with partner EvergreenBank, Kent, Washington's Kent Station kicks off its second annual Dollars for Kent Scholars fundraiser to raise scholarship money for local high school graduates attending Green River Community College.

Seattle-Bellevue-Everett, WA (1888PressRelease) February 27, 2008 - In partnership with EvergreenBank, Kent Station is excited to kick off its second annual Dollars for Kent Scholars fundraiser to raise scholarship money for local high school graduates. Beginning March 1, 2008—for the entire month of March—Kent Station shoppers and visitors are encouraged to participate by dining at any or all of Kent Station’s 13 food establishments.

Each time shoppers and visitors dine at their favorite Kent Station restaurant, café or specialty eatery, they can request and complete a postcard stating the name of the restaurant where they dined that day and the reason they chose it. Participating diners will be automatically entered into the Grand Prize Drawing for one of five Kent Station gift cards, ranging from $100 to $500.

Kent Station and EvergreenBank will provide scholarships to recent high school graduates attending Green River Community College. The more postcards received, the greater number of scholarships that can be provided by Kent Station and EvergreenBank and the more chances shoppers and visitors have to win! Kent Station diners get to spice it up this spring while earning Dollars for Kent Scholars—truly a win-win! [One entry for each food establishment per diner will be accepted. Complete rules are available online and at participating restaurants.]

Last year the promotion was so successful that Kent Station awarded two scholarships to Green River Community College instead of just one. Munira Farrah, one of last year’s winners, said she might not have been able to attend college without the Kent Station scholarship.

“I am very grateful for this generous gift. It is truly a blessing to know there are people in this world who want to help others get the most out of education,” Farrah said.

Kent Station’s General Manager John Hinds is looking forward to another successful scholarship fundraiser this year.

“Last year’s Dollars for Kent Scholars fundraiser exceeded our expectations, and we are hoping to do the same in 2008,” Hinds explained. “With EvergreenBank as our premier sponsor and partner, and with the support of the Kent community, we aim to award even more scholarships this year.”

Kent Station is an urban village developed by Seattle-based Tarragon Development Company and is located on 18 acres in the heart of downtown Kent, Washington on Ramsay Way. The 470,000 sq. ft., mixed-use project features office, retail and entertainment including a 14-screen AMC Theaters Cineplex and a branch campus of Green River Community College.
