February 02, 2008 - Veteran Producer Brings Wealth of Production Experience to Creative Design Boutique
NEW YORK - Element (www.iamelement.com), the New York-based, creative-driven design boutique, has added veteran producer Kayla Graffam as their new Senior Producer. She will work along side Creative Director/Co-Founder John Yu and Executive Producer/Co-Founder Paul Goldman.
"We are extremely lucky Kayla decided to join the Element team," says Goldman. "We have had our eye on her for some time and finally our worlds collided. She brings a keen sense of intellect and creativity to every project she works on and will no-doubt be a real asset to our company.
Prior to joining Element, Graffam served as both writer and producer on a wide variety of broadcast projects for such networks as VERSUS (formerly OLN), IFC, Bravo, Voom HD, and Sundance Channel. She also served as producer and production manager for Trace Pictures, Toronto; Suk & Koch Media and Independent Music Videos, both New York, NY.
"Although I enjoyed working as a broadcast producer, I've always been attracted to the design world," says Graffam. "I think much of today's great creative work is coming from design companies like Element and I wanted to be a part of it. I started working with Element as a freelancer and we clicked from the start. It's very rare to find a group of people who work together so well. Every job went so smoothly and without a hitch, which can be a difficult combination to find in this business. Working with Element was too good of an opportunity to pass up."
A Film and Motion Picture Technology graduate of the University of Central Florida, Orlando, FL, Graffam was a producer at the Independent Film Channel and Bravo from 2000 to 2004, before going freelance. Graffam's broadcast production experience and understanding of the pressures network producers face will no doubt be a huge benefit to both Element's clients and creative staff.
"Coming from the other side, I know what makes our clients tick," Graffam says. "As a former broadcast producer, I can speak their language and find out what they really want and communicate that to our creative team. John and the Element team are second to none and I'm looking forward to contributing to their creative reputation."
