May 09, 2009 - Karlin+Pimsler, an advertising creative boutique that specializes in Direct Response TV commercials, announced today that it has received two International Summit Awards in the categories of Best Humor and Best TV between $75k and $100k for its sensational “Opera” spot for J.G. Wentworth.
“We are thrilled to receive two honors from the International Summit Awards in a category that included all types of broadcast TV commercials from over forty countries, not just Direct Response TV,” said Mal Karlin, President and Chief Creative Officer, Karlin+Pimsler. “Our goal was to generate the maximum amount of leads by creating a humorous and irreverent commercial that demonstrated the J.G. Wentworth message. The “Opera” spot really grabbed audiences’ attention and we are very pleased to see that it is receiving the same attention within the creative industry.”
The 60-second spot aired nationwide on April 27, 2008 and as a result generated a record number of qualified leads in three consecutive quarters for J.G. Wentworth. Karlin+Pimsler has received a Davey Award (Silver Winner) for their “Opera” spot in 2008.
“Another indicator of the popularity of this spot is that it is now approaching 100,000 hits on YouTube,” Karlin added. “It’s remarkable...after all, it’s only a commercial.”
