October 27, 2008 - Joel Bryant, author, speaker and lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at UNCC, announces the release of his new book, Sense & Significance: A Dreamer’s Perspective. This book, the first in a series of four books by Joel, is designed for those who want real change, not just within their circumstances but also within themselves. Readers will be spared the pretension of "post-partum perspectives," books written by authors who are so removed from the angst of greatness that they diminish its impact. They will acquire the confidence to trust their instincts and to honor them exceptionally. Anyone involved in human services, profit or nonprofit, civic or professional, will benefit from it. It is especially designed for those who want something deeper than what most books promise but don't provide. In fact, it echoes authentically what each knows intuitively -- the time for change is now.
A former associate and trainer with the Dun & Bradstreet Corporation, Joel has over 20 years of sales and management experience. In 1999, he was one of only 61 employees worldwide to receive the company’s highest honor, “Best of the Best Leadership Award.” In October of 2000, however, he quit to follow his dreams of becoming a writer. In route, he had his car repossessed and became homeless temporarily. Since then, he has authored fourteen books. A gifted author and passionate speaker, Joel is known for his ability to contextualize contemporary realities. He resides in Charlotte, NC where he lectures in the philosophy department at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte.
Plans are currently being finalized for an upcoming “For Dreamer’s Only” event, to be & Significance: A Drheld in Charlotte, North Carolina.
