October 29, 2009 - Following the welcome remarks of H.E. Paskah Suzetta, State Minister, National Development Planning, Government of Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Joachim von Amsberg, Country Director, the World Bank, emphasized on the importance of the forthcoming meeting, as a turning stone for infrastructure development in Asia.
The steering committee for the event, chaired by Dr.Ir.Dedy S.Priatna, M.Sc. - Deputy Minister for Infrastructure Affairs (BAPPENAS) will be coordinating the event and will be working closely with all the governments and industry stakeholders to ensure the success of the meeting in 2010.
The 2010 Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Public Private Partnership for Infrastructure Development will be organized in conjunction with Asias most prestigious infrastructure forum Infrastructure Asia Exhibition and Conference, at JIEXPO, Jakarta. The event organizers PT Infrastructure Asia estimate over 25000 visitors and 700 companies exhibiting in four industry sectors: Energy, Transportation, IT Telecommunications and Water & Waste Management. For the first time in Asia decision makers from governments, industry and financial institutions will assemble to discuss the future of sustainable infrastructure development in Asia-Pacific.
The event organisers have announced a hosted program for senior government and infrastructure procurement officials from over 50 countries, including Australia, China, Germany, France, Japan, Russia, UK and the USA. Each hosted country is also granted 20 sqm booth to present the latest priority projects in their infrastructure portfolio. The present 31 ambassadors and trade attaches from the foreign mission in Jakarta were awarded the countries project pavilions during the official launch ceremony on 21st of August 2009 at the headquarters of BAPPENAS.
