  • (1888PressRelease) November 23, 2016 - BUPA entrusted Itelecom to perform the retrofit of the lighting systems of all its offices and subsidiaries in Chile, with more than 140 million square meters of facilities under light. Itelecom was chosen based on their experience to manage large-scale projects and the leadership of GO+ Lighting-as-a-Service model.

The agreement is a four-year contract which includes maintenance for $1.5 million dollars. The new lighting systems will be approximately 55% more efficient than BUPA's current lighting: thus, allowing BUPA to reduce their energy consumption and lower their operating costs while significantly improving the quality of their lighting.

Itelecom's GO+ solution is a pioneer in the Latin America market since 2014. According to international studies the Lighting as a Service industry will grow to 46% by the year 2021.
The "Lighting as a Service" business model has great advantages for the customer since it does not require any initial investment (Capital expense). It reduces operational costs due to lower consumption of energy and no maintenance required by the customer.

Without any doubt, this business model, of "Lighting as a Service" will be strengthened in the coming years due to corporations and businesses leaving it to the hands of the experts in upgrading its lighting systems to this new technology.

Considering that the technology of lighting (LED) has a return on investment estimated at 2-4 years, companies that opt in to renew and significantly improve their operations can do so without having to invest capital and by outsourcing the lighting they save time as well.

Having corporate clients in Chile, Perú, Colombia and México who have contracted the GO+ "Lighting as a Service" has allowed to illuminate with technological efficiency more than 1 million square meters making Itelecom a regional leader of this innovative "GO+" business model. Itelecom has also successfully launched GO+ in the US, supported by its offices in Miami Lakes, Florida (see www.gopluslightingservice.com).
