6. The amount of content has exploded and hence it is difficult for even search engines to index all pages and hence your page hierarchy should not be too deep. Most important pages must appear at level 1 or level 2.
7. Optimize your pages for localized searches in your city, state or county. People now search more and more in local areas.
8. Make sure you register in all directories that are relevant to your business. The people who own directories try hard to get traffic to their site and you will definitely benefit by being in them. It will also ensure that you get some back links to your website.
9. Last but not the least, no body can deny the importance of back links to your site. Get as many relevant links from good sites. This is probably one of most important factor in determining your ranking.
