August 19, 2009 - IRS & Partners, a leading law firm based in Hong Kong, announced today, they will be sponsoring “Learning From Women Leaders: China Edition,” to be held on August 25, 2009, from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Hyatt Hotel, Beijing, China.
Hosted by St. Paul University College of Law, the event’s aim is to advance the important discourse of cultivating women leaders and will feature a panel moderated by College President Teo Ren.
The program is guided by the following mission:
• To encourage critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and active learning opportunities that empower young women as leaders during and beyond their college tenure
• To foster a deeper understanding of women's diverse roles and contributions to society
• To increase awareness of obstacles women have faced and are facing, and of individual and collective strategies to address these issues
• To promote self-esteem and self-confidence of its members
• To provide opportunities for women to explore career and life choices
The panelists are all prominent women leaders in China including television anchor and media moguls, renowned women’s rights advocates, acclaimed novelists and screenwriters.
