He was selected to demonstrate the music of the pioneers for the National Park Service in the living history program at the Lewis and Clark National Memorial in Astoria Oregon. He has performed numerous times at the North West Folk Life Festival in Seattle Washington and has competed in the National Fiddle Contest in Weiser Idaho. He is a recording artist having participated on two folk music CD’s of fiddle and mandolin music.
Over the years he has attended numerous fiddle workshops taught by such masters of fiddling , as Kevin Burke, Byron Berline, Carol Anne Wheeler, Mark Savoy, Frank Ferrell, Alan Jabour, Dick Barrett, Benny Thomasson and a special masters class with world renown fiddler and recording artist, Mark O’Conner.
Currently Roland is performing for small musical concerts, events and is available for weddings, parties or dances and is now accepting students for fiddle and mandolin lessons.
