May 13, 2009 - UNITED IN ART FROM AGORA GALLERY - An Exhibition of Fine Art from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland Irish Artist Martina OBrien Paints an Emotional Landscape.
Agora Gallery is pleased to present United in Art, an exhibition of fine art from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, scheduled to run from June 2, 2009 through June 23, 2009. This represents the latest exhibition from Chelsea’s Agora Gallery, celebrating innovation and diversity; United in Art demonstrates the depth and range of work originating from the United Kingdom. Ranging from the figurative to the abstract and enjoying qualities of spontaneity, color and rhythm. The works on display teem with energy as they capture both the form and spirit of their subjects.
OBrien places the seas within our own emotional landscape, the tide becoming a metaphor for life’s fluctuation between tranquility and turbulence. In this sense, the art takes on an immediacy that speaks to our imagination while the colors, light and textures appeal to the senses. “As the sea is an ever- changing subject, I am constantly drawn to capture its vitality and uplifting mood-altering presence in my work,” she explains. In recent years O’Brien has been on a rigorous exhibition agenda throughout Ireland, with works held in public and private collections.
