  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) July 04, 2014 - Ira N. Helfgot has been a member of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers, where he has been serving as a member of the CLE Committee since 2012. Mr. Helfgot was sworn in as a member of the Board of Managers of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers by Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans, at Decalogue's 80th Anniversary Annual Meeting on June 16, 2014.

    The Decalogue Society of Lawyers is America's oldest Jewish Bar Association. It was founded in 1934 to promote justice in society and to advance and improve the law, the administration of justice and the legal profession. The Decalogue Foundation which is the charitable arm of the Decalogue Society of Lawyers has provided scholarships at all six area law schools and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The Foundation also underwrites its legal lecture series which grants free classes for CLE credit.

    The Decalogue's activities include a forum on legal topics of general and Jewish interest, lectures and seminars on recent decisions and legislation, and the presentation of awards. The society provides a placement service for members and maintains a welfare fund.
