May 28, 2009 - WICHITA, Kan. – INVISTA is proud to sponsor team CORDURA® Brand/Osprey® in the 2009 Primal Quest®. Stephen Barnes, product development manager for Osprey®Packs, will lead the competitive group in one of the outdoor industry’s most popular adventure racing events.
“Primal Quest® is considered one of the outdoor industry’s premier activities because it showcases human endurance and strength,” said Barnes. “When I learned about the CORDURA® brand ‘Durable People’ campaign, I thought it was only natural that we join forces in this exciting event.”
Biking, swimming, paddling and running are just some of the activities that typify the 10-day Primal Quest® course in South Dakota. Based on the Eco-Challenge format, this popular multi-day adventure race first began in 1995.

Team CORDURA® Brand/Osprey® will carry custom-made Talon packs made with 100D Ultralight CORDURA® fabric. Known for their extreme durability and strength-to-weight ratio balance, these packs will enable the team to transport large amounts of gear without adding unnecessary weight that may slow them down.
The race, which begins Aug. 15, 2009, covers 600 miles of the most diverse terrain in the United States. Participants will have to rely on their teammates to complete the challenging wilderness course that consists of dense forests, steep walled canyons and cave systems.
