M.I.X. is an event based on Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI), which recognizes that people are smart or intelligent in different ways. This has a positive impact on a child's self esteem and encourages excellence inside and outside the classroom, something we all aspire for. You are invited to join us at the event to create more awareness on the need for a MI approach to education and how we the members of the learning community can be empowered to achieve this. Here are some reasons why we would like you to join us:
India faces unprecedented challenges and requires higher levels of achievement (in education and beyond), than ever before. Some data points:
A recent study by Educational Initiatives & Wipro study on education showed that students representing the ‘top’ schools in Indian metros scored lower than the international average. This study also showed that while Indian students are able to answer questions based on recall and standard procedures quite well, their performance on questions testing understanding or application is far below what is considered as acceptable levels, particularly for today / tomorrow’s world.
40% of our population lives below the poverty line. We constitute about 1/6th of the world’s population.
40% of our population is under 18 years of age.
14 million Indians are added to the labour market each year, , with minimal “job readiness”. Most optimistic studies put this at about 15%.
Which leads us to the conclusion the learning community in partnership with the media needs to, create awareness for a need for change in our education approach, provide the required know how and leadership. Failing which, India could face higher levels of unemployment, poverty and instability, going forward. The need of the hour therefore, is to prepare our youth for higher levels of achievement, including job and wealth creation.

Response to the event has been very good and includes both international (such as Mallya Aditi International School) and established traditional (such as Bishop Cotton Boys) schools, which demonstrates the broad appeal for MI as an educational approach and in the concept / event.

Inventure Academy was established by the India Learning Foundation in 2005. We offer Kindergarten to Senior Secondary school education, within guidelines set by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) and University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES).
