Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease)
April 15, 2008 - Local mom and former magazine editor Elizabeth Shugg has launched http://www.triangletracks.com, a website that consolidates thousands of links to local resources for children in the Triangle. “T.R.A.C.K.S.” is an acronym for “Tools, Resources and Activities for Carolina KidS.”
Triangle T.R.A.C.K.S. currently links to children’s businesses and resources in Wake, Durham, Orange and Chatham counties. The site’s content focuses on education, museum exhibits, parks, youth sports, camps, music lessons, performing arts studios, party venues, amusement centers, restaurants, childcare facilities, healthcare resources, clothing stores and much more.
“There are thousands of wonderful resources for improving our children’s life here in the Triangle, and now they are all assembled on one site,” Shugg says. “This is truly an amazing place to live.”
Visitors can subscribe to Shugg’s free monthly e-newsletter by emailing info ( @ ) triangletracks dot com, and link to the Triangle T dot R dot A dot C dot K dot S dot blog at http://triangletracks dot blogspot dot com/ for news and feedback from other parents dot
Shugg came up with the idea and name for Triangle T.R.A.C.K.S. during her children’s January “track-out” break. “My children attend year-round school, so I started thinking about how nice it would be to rely on one portal website that consolidates all of the resources for children here in the Triangle. I did this as much for my family as everyone else’s, and now I’m excited to share it with other parents.”
Kim Moran of Apex considers Triangle T.R.A.C.K.S. an “invaluable” resource for her family. After receiving news of the link, she wrote in an email to Shugg: “I just wanted to take a moment to pass along my kudos to you for your wonderful new website. I received the notice through Turner Creek’s PTA group on Yahoo and immediately bookmarked your site to my ‘favorites.’ We are fairly new to the area and this information is invaluable to me. I appreciate this resource and will use it often.”
Shugg says she has already received advertising requests and will publish a media kit over the summer. She will begin accepting ads for the website this fall.
