September 21, 2006 - Glendale, CA- Echelon Studios along with Kitchen Film Productions Ltd. is proud to announce that Asociacion Cinedigital in Madrid, Spain has confirmed a guaranteed theatrical two week run for their film Legit. It will play in over 200 theatres throughout Spain. Legit’s theatrical run is scheduled for Oct. 27, 2006 through Nov. 9, 2006.
Using pioneering technology, Asociacion Cinedigital of Madrid will transmit Legit via satellite from its home studio to theatres. Legit’s producer, John Stemberg describes this cutting edge transmittal process as brilliant and is excited for the European release of his film. Echelon Studio’s President Eric Louzil is confident that Legit will achieve theatrical success in Spain, translating into theatrical offers from other European countries.
Legit follows in the American gangster film tradition of reformed mobsters. Big Jim Cartoni attempts the unthinkable and creates a plan to get out of the mob. Acting on his dream of opening his own club, he’s foiled at every turn by his lifelong nemesis, Joey Moran, all the while hoping his boss doesn’t find out about the club until its successful opening. With the city of Chicago as it’s’ backdrop, follow the story of one man who tries to beat the odds without ever having to fix the numbers.
The Chicago gangster drama stars versatile screen veteran James W. Boinski and members of Chicago’s successful musical comedy revue, “Tommy Gun’s Garage,” including Allen Kaflas, a graduate from Chicago’s famed Second City Conservatory who is currently featured in Sandra Bullock’s latest film “The Lake House.”
