March 04, 2008 - The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) honored two of its members at a luncheon ceremony during its annual conference, The 2008 Outsourcing World Summit® at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Feb. 19.
Neil S. Hirshman, a partner at Kirkland & Ellis, LLP and Kurt Kohorst, COP, assistant vice president at Safeco Insurance, were named Members of the Year for their demonstrated commitment to the growth of IAOP and leadership stances in the promotion and delivery of the association’s programs.
Hirshman chairs IAOP’s first and most successful chapter — Chicago — and through his firm’s global operations, is playing a key role in IAOP’s expansion in Europe. He also serves on IAOP’s Strategic Advisory Board, the European Advisory Board and The Outsourcing World Summit Program Committee. Throughout all of these roles, Hirshman has served as both a highly-valued advisor and inspiration to the IAOP leadership team and his fellow members.
Kohorst co-chairs the newly-formed Pacific Northwest Chapter, and serves on IAOP’s Research Committee and The Outsourcing World Summit Program Committee. Most importantly, he has taken a leadership role in developing new member programs — particularly those for IAOP’s customer members. Kurt was the inspiration and energy behind the highly successful Customer-Only Speed Networking session at the just-completed Outsourcing World Summit.
Honorees are selected by the Executive Team of IAOP and presented with the award annually at The Outsourcing World Summit.
