  • (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2010 - India - Recently, leading organizations including Accenture, Dr. Reddy's Foundation and the NASSCOM Foundation announced that there are ample of opportunities to grow for the youth of India and hence they will be providing comprehensive training and career opportunities for outsourcing to India.

    Accenture is aiming to educate the youth and build a professional skill set so that they can tap on the looming opportunities in the software development industry. The consultant major for outsourcing to India would be contributing considerably to the Indian economy and infrastructure by training and readying the next generation of corporate citizens. Accenture along with Dr. Reddy's Foundation (DRF) would identify, recruit and train facilitators identified by the NASSCOM. The project includes searching for and selecting suitable business processing outsourcing (BPO) sites available on the market while training the workforce.

    The project plans to recruit a huge number of full time employees from the graduates who participate in the training course duration upon completion. DRF is supposed to conduct follow-up workshops with NGOs and keep connected to the underprivileged youthful skill set to support outsourcing to India.

    Mr. Harsh Maglik, chairman and geography managing director of Accenture in India, went on record to say that by conducting the planned project they are focusing on bringing in sustained income to the families and households of the disadvantaged youth. They will be trained on the general operations of the software development BPO industry in India while Accenture will be committed in building specialized skills in the potential juveniles. According to Mr. Maglik, this initiative is aimed at making a significant, lasting impression on the social and economic well-being of individuals who might otherwise become marginalized due to juvenile delinquencies.

    From Dr. Reddy's Foundation, the Chief Executive officer (CEO) Mr. Jitendra Kalra said that by training the rural youth in BPO skills provides them a platform to gain employment as respectable white collar employees which is a major incentive to their families. This initiative promises of sharing the knowledge of the increase in the opportunities due to globalization of outsourcing to India as the success stories will travel fast and far, and bring in more youth inspired by them.

    Jaithirth "Jerry" Rao, chairman, NASSCOM Foundation mentions that by bringing the software development BPO industry to the 74 per cent of Indians residing in villages and rural areas, domestic BPOs can bring a revolution in employment opportunities for the rural educated masses. He added that with the growing demand for a skilled workforce in the software development BPO space, these initiatives provide a huge opportunity in securing sustainable livelihood for the rural youth.
