May 24, 2008 - Indianapolis consumers can follow in the footsteps of the IndyCar® Series and make a choice at the pump for energy independence and cleaner air when E10 (a blend of10 percent ethanol and 90 percent gasoline) will be available for $2.97 a gallon and E85 (a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline) will be available for $1.85 a gallon. The promotion will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008 for a limited time at the Crystal Flash station located at 545 S. Rangeline Rd in Carmel, IN.
IndyCar drivers Ryan Hunter-Reay, Graham Rahal, and Justin Wilson will be on hand to sign autographs and answer motorist’s questions about ethanol. The first 50 cars will receive an ethanol fan pack. Hank FM will be broadcasting live from the promotion, and the #17 Team Ethanol show car will be on display.
E10 is warranted for use in any vehicle built after 1980 and E85 can only be used in flex-fuel vehicles (FFV’s). There are more than 6.8 million FFV’s on the road today.
The 92nd running of the Indianapolis 500 will be held Sunday, May 25, 2008 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
