July 21, 2008 - Independent artist Ruby James is the only unsigned artist to be chosen for the upcoming soundtrack for a remake of the 1939 melodrama ‘The Women’. Diane English is directing the all-female cast.
Other artists on the soundtrack include KT Tunstall, Annie Lennox, Goldfrapp, Bird and the Bee, Lucy Schwartz. Release date is set for Sept. 14 on Universal.
Ruby James burst onto the music scene as a solo artist in 2006 with the release of her EP ‘Sweet as Sin’. Her latest release, ‘Desert Rose’, is generating rave reviews and has had several movie & television placements.
A radio promotion tour in place to support her single ‘Everything Good Goes Away’ which is also the song that is featured on ‘The Women’. In between the tour schedule, Ruby and her band are also currently working on The Austin Sessions, a collaborative effort with music icons Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan) and his brother Will Sexton (Waylon Jennings).
