InBev Seeks To Remove Anheuser-Busch Board

Stockhouse reports that InBev (Euronext: INB) announced that it will file documents with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission seeking to remove each member of the board of directors of Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc. (NYSE: BUD).

New York, NY (1888PressRelease) July 08, 2008 - The new slate of directors proposed by InBev includes, Adolphus A. Busch IV, a member of the founding Busch family, who recently expressed his preference for the InBev offer in a letter to the BUD Board of Directors.

"InBev's offer provides the opportunity for Anheuser-Busch brands to compete globally. I believe that as directors you have a fiduciary duty to commence negotiations with InBev in order to bring about this deal and allow the shareholders to receive the price proposed by InBev" stated Mr. Busch.

With the largest players in the brewing industry involved and Busch family members taking sides it appears that investors will be hearing a lot more about BUD.
