Immunotherapy Allergy Treatments Now Administered By General Practitioner As Part Of Immuno Laboratories “Advantage IgE” Program

Physicians can now administer allergy shots to patients without sending the patient to a allergy specialist or allergist as a referral.

(1888PressRelease) July 18, 2008 - FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Immuno Laboratories IgE Advantage program enables general practitioners to manage patient allergies from their office eliminating the need for a referral. This first-of-its kind program is a completely seamless turn-key system providing practitioners the ability to test, diagnose, and treat allergies. For patient convenience the treatments can be administered either sublingually or subcutaneously. Educational Web and conference based seminars are available for physician review of immunotherapy management and administration protocols.
Patients are initially tested for overall allergies through the Total IgE test measuring total circulating levels of IgE. If the patient has a higher than normal total IgE level, a reflex to a specific allergy IgE test panel may be ordered by the treating physician. If the patient shows a reaction to any of the allergens, the results are immediately forwarded to a licensed immunotherapy manufacturer, that will make the treatment sets. Treatment sets are sent directly to the doctor’s office.

Educational tools are available to ensure that physicians are up to date on the requirements for storage, treatment modification and allergic reaction management. Web tutorials and live seminars are available for immunotherapy protocol review. The Immuno Laboratories 2008 Practice Development Conference is offering a 15 CME/CEU program that will include an immunotherapy protocol review. The conference is being held October 31 – November 1, 2008 at the Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, Florida. For more information visit www.immunolabs.com.

The goal of the Advantage IgE program is to provide a seamless process enabling the physician to respond quickly to the needs of the patient and to ensure continuity of care by removing the need to refer the patient to another healthcare provider. Kauley Jones, Immuno Laboratories V.P. of Marketing & Sales states, “When you are suffering, you don’t want to hear about a long paperwork process. You want relief, and fast.”
