May 05, 2007 - H.X. Sin who is always a writer, sometimes a musician and often a painter has crafted a novel that plays with the boundaries of books and literature. Every word, sentence structure, plot twist and text layout is designed to add more punch to this already powerful book.
The reader controls the storyline of the book with the choice to read its two parts linearly, in tandem, once or multiple times. Any way you tackle the book, there’s always something that you didn’t notice before-- only made more clear by taking the book on with a different approach.
The nameless protagonist is the epitome of generation Y-- wandering, drunk and a bit ambivalent. But there is only so much one can take before the ambivalence snaps and after a series of horrible relationships, a death in the family, poverty, fame, fortune, murder, love, hate, suicide, institutionalization and criminal prosecution. In the end, none of it is as important as his grasp on who he is and what he truly believes in.
At the request of the author, the book was quietly released and slowly spread amongst a few individuals and book clubs. If Kisses Were Bullets… is currently available through most online book retailers.
