It’s a registered website, and is the only personality recognition contest to determine the best out of breed in the world & on world wide web,” explains Mr. Nat. “This is just phase one, and there are certain rule & regulations - Idol material has to be a famous personality and should have done something positive,” adds Jay. Also working at Dell, he tags Sachin tendulkar as his Idol. “Irrespective of the matches India wins or lose, he is still the man who did wonders in cricket arena,” vows Jay, developing the website simultaneously and placing net ads over social networking sites to spread the word.
Phase two will have zeroing in on certain names and tie-ups with TV channels for award function broadcasting etc. “Currently, people are in a frame of mind to nominate and vote for their Idols, and with the variety of meida at hand like TV Channels, Internet, SMS’s et al, we want to make this an annual feature,” adds Mahal & Nat, eyeing launch sometime in May or June depending on the developements.
“Very soon, member of public residing in India will be able to SMS their Nomination through 7575 shortcode (since negotiations are on with the service provider). And yes, there will be prizes too,” smiles Jay, already excited with the optimum usage of free space and free expression.
