January 18, 2008 - Los Angeles, CA - Iconoclastic Features and rising talent management firm, Iconoclastic Talent Management (ITM), will kick off the new year at the Sundance Film Festival, January 17-22 2008. Representatives from both companies will attend the yearly Sundance Queer Brunch, GLAAD party, and Time-Warner bash, as the week reaches its apex with an intimate gathering of friends and industry professionals.
Both companies are set to promote an exclusive affair Sunday night, January 20th, in Park City. The event will celebrate upcoming Iconoclastic Features project “Portland” as well as honor colleague Robert Zimmer, whose production “Half Life” will be premiering at Sundance. Edward Singletary of Iconoclastic Features and Michael Duarte of ITM will be hosting the event.
Iconoclastic Features, founded by actor/producer Edward Singletary, producer Stephanie Frank, and filmmaker Matthew Mishory, develops and produces truly independent films, meaning original and innovative movies that matter. The company's first project “Portland,” written and directed by Mishory and produced by Singletary, Frank, and London-based producer Joe Wihl, is currently in pre-production. Jonathan Caouette, of the Sundance smash “Tarnation” is attached to star.
“Portland” charts the desperate search for intimacy and redemption among four people connected inextricably by childhood tragedy. The film explores timely issues of gender, sexuality, abuse, and reconciliation. A full slate of narrative features will follow.
