June 03, 2007 - A coalition of folklore groups from Bolivia, Colombia, España, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua, produced by Proyectos Saluda, will come salute filipinos on their Independence Festivities, for a historical first time. This will take place next June 09 and 10th at the Long Beach Convention Center, during the Trade Show and Car Fest at Halls B and C, doors open from 10am to 5pm. The Philippines will be celebrating its 109th anniversary of Independence from Spain, with this majestic event produced by KOSCI guaranteed to gather huge crowds of the Filipino population in Southern California.
Proyectos Saluda's coalition, with renowned folklore groups Diablada Quime/Luz de los Andez, la Puya Loca, Esplendor, HULA, Nicaragüita, and the renowned Marta Santamaria and Viagem, will participate during a great Trade Show and Car Fest. It is the first time that folklore groups come together to salute their Filipino cousins, presenting the diversity of our Hispanic world, where The Philippines and Latin America have a common place.
This Philippine Independence Festival and Trade Show is being produced by Kalayaan of Southern California, Inc. (KOSCI). Among the festivities KOSCI has arranged for this unforgettable weekend, there will be coronation of beauties, entertainment, sports awards, fashion show for June 8th. Gala night, featuring the who's who in the filipino community, special guests from the RP and prominent filipino officers and mayors of different cities in southenr California, vip red carpet on June 9th.
The 08-09-10 June weekend at Long Beach Convention Center is guaranteed to be a feast of entertainment, with international and local stars and singers, different cultural shows, presenting Philippine arts, music and dance, the best of Filipino food and the warm embrace from five Latin American nations and Spain.
