February 26, 2007 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 25, 2007 - As part of its Academic Alliance Program, Hyperion (Nasdaq Global Select: HYSL), the global leader in Business Performance Management (BPM) software, today announced that more than 40 business schools around the world are accessing Hyperion’s robust set of business intelligence (BI) solutions and BPM resources via a 24x7 hosted model. Business school faculty are enhancing the learning experience of students with access to over half-a-million dollars in BI software, hours of computer-based training, and an array of presentations and other teaching materials from Hyperion. In addition, utilizing Hyperion resources through a hosted model allows faculty to focus on teaching rather than on system administration and technical support issues.
Driven by increasingly complex compliance and reporting requirements, the BI and analytics systems deployed by businesses are quickly evolving along with the skills needed to manage and utilize these systems. As BI becomes more widely embraced and broadly utilized, it becomes more important for business schools to integrate BI into their curriculum. Even with software grants from providers, installation and maintenance expenses make integrating these tools into the classroom largely cost prohibitive. Providing hosted access, however, to Hyperion System 9 BI+ Interactive Reporting gives academic institutions an affordable way to enhance their courses and better prepare the next generation of business leaders to use BI reporting, query, and dashboard tools they will encounter in the real world.

Hyperion has partnered with companies such as Citrix and the Center for Remote Enterprise Hosting (CRESH) to enable the hosted BI solution for the Hyperion Academic Alliance. Citrix provides solutions that enable organizations to centrally deploy and manage applications, provide secure access based on each user’s role and defined needs, ensure system and data security, facilitate rapid application deployment, and guarantee system performance. CRESH, a specialized ASP, provides colleges and universities around the world with 24x7 access to the latest Hyperion System 9 BI+ Interactive Reporting module. CRESH runs the server farm data center, manages the environment, administers student sign-ups, and oversees all technical issues.
A number of tools from Hyperion make it easy for faculty to keep their curriculum up to date and relevant by implementing the Hyperion environment in the classroom. Hyperion’s Academic Alliance site offers a simple way to introduce students to BPM and BI concepts and a faculty landing page organizes web content, including white papers, webcasts, demos, and analyst reports. Hyperion’s web resources are also accessible through the Teradata University Network’s faculty portal – one of the partner programs Hyperion works with to better connect Hyperion to the academic community.
