  • Pensacola-Ferry Pass-Brent, FL (1888PressRelease) July 21, 2015 - A Pensacola production company, Hover Check Aerial Productions, recently received a Federal Aviation Administration exemption to fly drones commercially and conduct aerial photography for real estate, land surveys, weddings, roofing inspections, and other personal and commercial applications. The company uses proprietary multi-rotor drone helicopter technology to capture HD video from vantage points unobtainable by other methods and seeks to fill a niche in the local photography industry.

Named for the section in the 2012 FAA reauthorization act that regulates commercial operations for drones less than 55 pounds, the Section 333 exemption is designed to help bring order to civilian flight. According to the FAA, the exemption process discourages illegal operations and improves safety in the unmanned aircraft system marketplace, and provides a competitive advantage to those operations pursuing safe and legal entry into the National Airspace System.

Owner of Hover Check Aerial Productions, Rick Simpson, said of the FAA approval, "Receiving the FAA Section 333 exemption is something we are extremely proud of. It was a tedious process but we are serious about doing things the right way. We are ready to bring our more than 15 years of experience in video production and flight management to the Gulf Coast and this approval can assure our clients that safety and quality are our top priorities when we shoot.
