January 29, 2009 - Hotelly.com a RateGain initiative announced today that besides the enormous aggregation of content that it has already done on its site, it will now focus on gathering content directly from the hotels and the holiday makers themselves.
As part of this initiative it will be reaching out to all the hotels making them aware of the presence of their properties on Hotelly and integrating the updated content, especially videos, provided by them.
Bhanu Chopra, CEO says “Our content team is working closely with the hotel partners to better represent their properties to the consumers.” He added “we find that a lot of hotels still don’t have a video around their property and we want to educate the hoteliers on the simple low cost web 2.0 ways of doing so on Hotelly even if they don’t have the budgets for the traditional video shoots.”
Besides the reach out to hotels, Hotelly is also paying hard cash to all the users who upload Hotel Video reviews through its share and earn program. Bhanu says “this is a good way for users to not just share their experiences in today’s connected world but also to make an easy buck for doing so. The users can earn upto £10.00 for every Hotel they review using their video camera. With an average couple making an average of 6 trips in a year, the program can easily pay for a hotel night for the user.”
